Oral Sweet SF Alcohol Free Sugar Free Syrup Vehicle

Oral Sweet SF is a sugar-free, alcohol-free syrup vehicle used to simplify the process of sweetening extemporaneous compounded sugar-free oral preparations. It may be used alone or in conjunction with other agents to give sweetness while increasing the suspension’s physical stability. Oral Sweet SF contains suitable preservatives and is buffered to a slightly acidic pH to provide a dependable and consistent vehicle.

Oral Sweet SF contains purified water, glycerine, sorbitol, sodium saccharin, xanthan gum, sodium phosphate and citric acid as buffer and potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, methylparaben sodium, propylparaben sodium as preservatives.

Oral Sweet SF may be used alone or in combination with other agents. Oral Sweet SF will retain its properties when diluted up to 50% with water or suspending agents. Its versatility makes it ideal for:

  • Paediatric suspensions
  • Geriatric suspensions

Aqueous solutions: weight the material with water or other water miscible substances such as glycerine or sorbitol. Dissolve the material in a minimal amount of water add Oral Sweet and mix well or other suspending agents. It is critical to form an initial suspension with the suspending agent first, using Oral Sweet to dilute to volume. If Oral Plus is used as a suspending agent, an approximate equal proportion of each is optimal.
Caution: Please do not crush tablet or capsule formulated for time or sustain release.

Store in original container, tightly sealed, protected from direct sunlight, in a dry and well-ventilated area, away from incompatible materials. Eliminate all ignition sources. Separate from oxidizing materials. Containers that have been opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Do not store in unlabelled containers. Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination. Store below 25ºC.
