Description
Amoxil 50 (Amoxycillin) is a semi-synthetic penicillin known for its broad bactericidal activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is effective against a wide range of microorganisms, including Streptococci, non-penicillinase producing Staphylococci, Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium spp., Clostridium spp., Brucella spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp., Moraxella spp., E. coli, Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Fusiformis, Bordetella spp., Diplococci, Micrococci, and Sphaerophorus necrophorus.
The bactericidal effect of Amoxil 50 (Amoxycillin) works by inhibiting cell wall formation. It is primarily excreted through urine and bile, making it particularly useful for treating renal and Salmonella infections within the intra-hepatic biliary tree.
Indications
AMOXIL 50 (Amoxycillin) is a potent, broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against infections caused by amoxycillin-sensitive microorganisms. It is commonly used to treat a variety of conditions, including gastrointestinal infections, respiratory infections, urogenital infections, local inflammations, and secondary bacterial infections associated with viral diseases. AMOXIL 50 is suitable for use in cattle, calves, pigs, and poultry, promoting quick recovery and maintaining overall animal health.
Contra-indications
Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to penicillins.
Avoid use in animals with impaired renal or hepatic function.
Not suitable for the treatment of infections caused by penicillinase-producing Staphylococci.
Do not administer to newborns or small herbivores.
Not for use in layers producing eggs for human consumption.
Side-effects
In some cases, gastrointestinal disturbances, hypersensitivity reactions to penicillins, or allergic skin reactions may occur. Monitoring animals for these reactions is recommended during treatment.
Incompatibility with other drugs
Do not combine amoxycillin with bacteriostatic antimicrobial drugs.
