CIPROCURE 20 WSP

COMPOSITION
Each gram contains
Ciprofloxacin: 200 mg

DESCRIPTION
Ciprofloxacin is a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic with potent antimicrobial activity, designed to combat a wide range of bacterial infections by inhibiting DNA gyrase, which is essential for bacterial DNA replication. It is highly effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as organisms like Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, and Rickettsiaspecies. Ciprofloxacin is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, reaching maximum plasma concentrations within 30 minutes to 1 hour and distributing efficiently to vital tissues, including the lungs, liver, and kidneys. After oral administration, ciprofloxacin reaches very high plasma concentrations, effectively eliminating 99% of pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli, Klebsiella, Salmonella, and Pseudomonas.

INDICATIONS
CiproCure 20 is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat and prevent infections caused by susceptible bacteria. Its bactericidal action is concentration-dependent and exhibits a notable post-antibiotic effect, which enhances its effectiveness against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. CiproCure 20 is particularly effective against a variety of Gram-negative bacilli and cocci, including species such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella spp., E. coli, Enterobacter, Campylobacter, Shigella, Salmonella, Aeromonas, Haemophilus, Proteus, Yersinia, Serratia, and Vibrio. It also targets other organisms like Brucella spp., Chlamydia trachomatis, Staphylococci(including penicillinase-producing and methicillin-resistant strains), Mycoplasma, and Mycobacterium spp.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
CiproCure 20 should not be administered to animals with known hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin or other quinolones. It is also contraindicated in animals with severe liver or kidney impairment.

SIDE EFFECTS
As with other fluoroquinolones, hypersensitivity reactions may occur, regardless of dosage. Mild gastrointestinal disturbances may also be observed.

PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS
It is recommended to confirm the susceptibility of the causative bacteria before initiating treatment with CiproCure 20. If this is not feasible, treatment should be based on local or regional data regarding bacterial resistance patterns. Fluoroquinolones should be reserved for conditions that have not responded to other classes of antibiotics. Severely ill animals with altered drinking patterns may require medication through injection rather than oral administration. Dosage adjustments may be necessary depending on the water consumption of the flock or herd.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Administer via drinking water:

  • Dosage recommendation: 10 mg per kg of body weight.

  • Poultry: 500 mg in 1 liter of drinking water, administered continuously for 3 to 5 days, or as advised by a veterinarian.

Accurate body weight determination is essential. CiproCure 20 is not suitable for animals with functional ruminal digestion.
