DESCRIPTION:
Florfenicol is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against Gram-negative bacilli, Gram-positive cocci, and atypical bacteria like mycoplasma. Its lipophilic nature ensures high tissue penetration, enabling treatment of intracellular pathogens and crossing anatomical barriers. Florfenicol works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis and is effective against key pathogens such as Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Salmonella typhi.
INDICATIONS:
AVIFLOR 20% ORAL is indicated for the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal and respiratory tract infections caused by florfenicol-sensitive microorganisms in swine and poultry, including:
Actinobacillus spp.
Pasteurella spp.
Salmonella spp.
Streptococcus spp.
This formulation ensures effective control of infections, promoting better health and productivity in swine and poultry.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not use in laying hens and henny replacements (less than 14 days before egg-laying starts).
Hypersensitivity to thiamphenicol, chloramphenicol, penicillin, cephalosporins, and fluoroquinolones.
Gastrointestinal disturbances.
SIDE EFFECTS:
In swine: Transient perianal and rectal erythema/oedema, and occasionally, rectal prolapse may occur.
Reduced feed and water consumption, softening of feces, or diarrhea may also be observed.
INCOMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER DRUGS:
Do not combine with chlorinators.
PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:
Determine the susceptibility of causative microorganisms before starting treatment.
Adjust dosage based on herd or flock water consumption.
Avoid using or storing the product in galvanized metal containers or automatic drinkers.
Individuals with hypersensitivity to florfenicol should avoid contact with the product.
In case of accidental spillage on the skin, rinse immediately with water.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
For oral administration via drinking water. Shake well before use.
Poultry: 500 ml per 1,000 liters of drinking water for 3 days (equivalent to 30 mg florfenicol per kg body weight).
Pigs: 1,000 ml per 1,000 liters of drinking water continuously for 5 days (equivalent to 20 mg florfenicol per kg body weight).
Use medicated drinking water as the only source of water during treatment.
Mixed drinking water must be used within 24 hours.

STORAGE:
Store in a dry and dark place between 8°C and 25°C.
Store in closed packing.
Keep away from children.
