DESCRIPTION
Amprolium is an effective coccidiostat (antiprotozoal) used for the treatment and prevention of coccidiosis in various livestock, including calves, sheep, goats, and poultry such as chickens (broilers and breeders) and turkeys. It targets Eimeria spp., with specific efficacy against Eimeria tenella, E. acervulina, E. praecox, and E. necatrix.

As a thiamine (vitamin B1) analogue, AmproCure 30 functions through competitive inhibition of thiamine uptake. This mechanism blocks the active transport of thiamine in isolated second-generation schizonts of Eimeriaspp. and in host intestinal cells. Upon ingestion, coccidia are deprived of thiamine, leading to their starvation and death due to malnutrition.

INDICATIONS
AmproCure 30 is a broad-spectrum coccidiostat (antiprotozoal) used as both a preventive and therapeutic agent against Eimeriainfections in poultry, specifically targeting E. tenella, E. necatrix, E. acervulina, and E. praecox. It is also effective for treating other protozoal infections, such as Histomoniasis (Blackhead) in turkeys and poultry, coccidiosis in calves, sheep, and goats, and amoebiasis in various species.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Do not use in layers producing eggs for human consumption.
Do not administer to animals with impaired hepatic and/or renal functions.
Do not administer to turkeys before the age of 8 to 10 weeks.

SIDE EFFECTS
High doses may result in delayed growth in broilers or polyneuritis.
Long-term administration of amprolium in high doses may result in thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency in the host.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For oral administration via drinking water or milk replacer.

Calves, sheep and goats:

Preventive: 1 g per 60 kg bodyweight through drinking water or milk for 21 days.
Curative: 1 g per 30 kg bodyweight through drinking water or milk for 5 days.

Poultry:

Preventive: 1 kg per 5,000 liters of drinking water for 1–2 weeks.
Curative: 1 kg per 1,250–2,500 liters of drinking water for 5–7 days. Mixed with milk replacer use the product within 12 hours. Mixed with drinking water use the product within 24 hours.
