DESCRIPTION
COLIDEX 1200 WSP is a synergistic combination of two powerful antibiotics, doxycycline and colistin, designed for the prevention and treatment of infections caused by both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Doxycycline, a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the tetracycline group, is effective against a wide range of pathogens, including rickettsia, mycoplasmas, chlamydia, actinomyces, and certain protozoa. It works by inhibiting protein synthesis, thus stopping bacterial growth.
Colistin, a cyclic polypeptide antibiotic, has a potent bactericidal effect against Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Due to its minimal absorption in the gastrointestinal tract, colistin remains active locally, making it ideal for treating bowel infections.
The combination of doxycycline and colistin offers synergistic activity against a broad spectrum of systemic and gastrointestinal infections, ensuring comprehensive coverage and effective treatment in both areas.
INDICATIONS
COLIDEX 1200 WSP is a powerful synergistic combination of two antibiotics, specifically formulated for the prevention and treatment of diseases caused by both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is effective against pathogens such as E. coli, Salmonella, Pasteurella(fowl cholera), Haemophilus (infectious coryza), Campylobacter, and agents causing chronic respiratory disease (CRD) and non-specific enteritis.
COLIDEX 1200 WSP is indicated for the treatment and prevention of:
Gastrointestinal infections
Respiratory infections
Urogenital infections
Local inflammations
Secondary bacterial infections during viral outbreaks
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to tetracyclines and/or colistin.
Avoid use in animals with impaired renal function.
Not suitable for animals with active microbial digestion, such as ruminants.
Do not use in animals producing eggs or milk for human consumption.
SIDE EFFECTS
None.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For oral administration via drinking water.
Poultry: 1 kg per 2,000 liters of drinking water for 4 - 5 days.
Game birds, pigeons: 0.5 g per liter of drinking water for 4 - 5 days.
Calves, lambs, kids: 1 g per 10 kg body weight, twice daily for 4 - 5 days.
Medicated drinking water should be used within 24 hours.

Calves, kids, and lambs: 14 days
STORAGE
Store in a dry and dark place between 8 °C and 25 °C.
Store in closed packing.
Keep away from children.
