COMPOSITION
Each gram contains
Colistin (as sulphate): 5,000,000 IU
Colistin is a polymyxin antibiotic with excellent solubility, making it ideal for use in all types of drinking water systems. It provides potent bactericidal action against select Gram-negative bacteria, including Aerobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Haemophilusspp., Pasteurella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Vibriospp., and paracolon bacteria (MIC values < 5 mcg/ml). Colistin initially inhibits bacterial cell division and subsequently causes progressive cell lysis.
Notably, Colistin sulphate is minimally absorbed (less than 1%) after oral administration, ensuring its activity remains concentrated within the gastrointestinal tract. However, some Pseudomonas species may exhibit primary resistance.
INDICATIONS
COLIMAX WSP is indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections in calves, lambs, kids, and poultry caused by colistin-susceptible bacteria, particularly targeting Colibacillosis and Salmonellosis. Its formulation is specifically designed to combat these infections effectively within the gastrointestinal tract.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to polymyxins.
Avoid use for infections caused by resistant microorganisms.
Do not administer to animal species not listed under indications, particularly those with an active rumen and intestinal microbial flora.

INCOMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER DRUGS
Do not combine erythromycin with other macrolide antibiotics.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For oral administration via drinking water.
Calves, lambs, kids: 2.5 g per 200 kg body weight, twice daily for 5 – 10 days.
Pigs: 1 g per 2.5 kg feed during 3-5 days.
Poultry: 1 g per 12 liters of drinking water for 5 days.
Mixed with feed, the product should be used immediately.
Medicated drinking water should be used within 24 hours.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
Meat: 2 days
Eggs: 1 day
STORAGE
Store in a dry and dark place between 8 °C and 25 °C.
Store in closed packing.
Keep away from children.
