Spectinomycin HCl: 444 mg
DESCRIPTION
The combination of lincomycin and spectinomycin provides an additive, and in some cases, synergistic effect. Spectinomycin exhibits bacteriostatic or bactericidal activity, depending on the dosage, and is particularly effective against Gram-negative bacteria such as Campylobacter, E. coli, and Salmonella spp., as well as Mycoplasma species. On the other hand, lincomycin offers bacteriostatic or bactericidal action against Gram-positive bacteria like Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Treponema spp., in addition to being effective against Mycoplasma. However, cross-resistance between lincomycin and macrolides may occur.
INDICATIONS
LINCOSIN Plus WSP is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to lincomycin and spectinomycin.
Poultry: Used for the treatment of chronic respiratory diseases (CRD) caused by Mycoplasma infections, as well as infections due to E. coli bacteria that are sensitive to lincomycin and spectinomycin.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to lincomycin and/or spectinomycin.
Avoid use in animals with severely impaired renal function.
Not intended for use in layers producing eggs for human consumption.
SIDE EFFECTS
Hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
INCOMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER DRUGS
Do not administer together with penicillins, cephalosporins, or quinolones.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For oral administration via drinking water.
Poultry: 150 g per 130 liters of drinking water for 3 – 5 days.
Pigs: 150 g per 1,500 liters of drinking water for 4 – 7 days.
Medicated drinking water should be used within 24 hours.

STORAGE
Store in a dry and dark place between 8 °C and 25 °C.
Store in closed packing.
Keep medicine away from children.
