DESCRIPTION
Fosfomycin (FOS) is a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic that targets proliferating bacteria by inhibiting cell wall and early peptidoglycan synthesis. It is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Salmonella spp., E. coli, Pasteurellaspp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Haemophilusspp., Klebsiella spp., and Pseudomonas spp.
Fructose 1.6-diphosphate is a key fructose sugar derived from the conversion of glucose and fructose. It plays a significant role in cellular metabolism, enhancing energy production and overall cell function, which can support the effectiveness of antibiotic therapy.
INDICATIONS
MEDIFOS PURE WSP is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in broilers caused by microorganisms susceptible to Fosfomycin. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of respiratory and digestive tract infections caused by E. coli, Salmonella spp., mycoplasmosis, chronic respiratory disease (CRD) complex, fowl cholera, infectious coryza, avian typhoid, and staphylococcal infections.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Do not use in animals with severely impaired renal or hepatic function.
Do not use in hens laying eggs intended for human consumption.
SIDE EFFECTS
A mild diarrhoea may occur during or after treatment.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For oral administration in drinking water.
The recommended dosage level is 160 mg per kg of body weight, approximately equivalent to:
Poultry (broilers): 1,000 g per 1,000 liters of drinking water for 3 - 5 days.
For accurate dosage, calculate the required quantity based on the body weight of the animals.
Medicated water should be used within 24 hours.
WITHDRAWAL TIME
Meat: 7 days
STORAGE
Store in a dry and dark place between 8 °C and 25 °C.
Store in closed packing.
