COMPOSITION
Each gram contains
Neomycin sulphate: 1,000 mg
DESCRIPTION
Neomycin is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic with bactericidal effects at high concentrations and bacteriostatic effects at low concentrations. It is effective against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. When administered orally, only a small fraction (less than 5%) is absorbed into the bloodstream, while most of it remains active in the gastrointestinal tract. Neomycin is stable and not inactivated by enzymes or food, making it highly effective in preventing and treating enteric infections caused by bacteria sensitive to neomycin.
INDICATIONS
NIOCARE 1000 WSP is indicated for the treatment of intestinal infections in calves, sheep, goats, swine, and poultry. Neomycin is effective against pathogens such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Pasteurella, Staphylococci, and Listeria species. When administered orally, neomycin remains largely unabsorbed in the digestive tract, ensuring targeted action against enteric pathogens, although absorption may increase in severe enteritis.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Do not administer to animals with impaired kidney or liver function.
Avoid use in animals with known allergies to neomycin.
Not for use in lactating animals if milk is intended for human consumption.
